Why We Partner with HP
What makes the founders of Silicon Valley unique and the benefits this brings to you.
A Unique History
HP was founded in a garage by two engineers, Bill Hewlett and Dave Packard, in the late 1930’s. One of their first customers, Walt Disney, used their audio oscillator to help create the film Fantasia. That collaboration endures to this day with joint development of screen technology "HP Dreamcolor", and pioneering film rendering solutions.
They went on to create the world’s foremost technology giant. That garage at 375 Addison Avenue is an official Californian landmark and its plaque reads “Birthplace of Silicon Valley”.
Its management practices and business style, known as “The HP Way” continues to be taught in leading schools around the world and was classed as years ahead of its time. In fact this led Apple co-founder Steve Jobs to single out HP as a company he admired.
HP pioneered the introduction of what became synonymous with laser printing – Printer Command Language (PCL) and the first LaserJet printer in 1984. They have been at the leading edge of printing technology ever since ranked as the world’s number one with twice the market share of the next nearest competitor for the last 39 years.
HP created the concept of the IT Channel to help customers access its products and services around the world.
