HP incorporates a range of measures in its Managed LaserJet Devices designed to support greater accessibility.
Visual Assistance
Visual aids include sound alerts, tactile functionality, and support of assistive technology:
- Auditory printer status and alerts
- Customised Braille and tactile adhesives and the BigKeys LX Keyboard (HP Accessibility Kit)
- Screen-reader assistive technology access to the printer’s display information
- Keyboard accessible printer driver and toolbox software, which also supports screen-reader assistive technology
- AA-level base UI contrast, at least 4.5:1 contrast ratio on the control panel user interface
- Toggle Keys functionality, which audibly indicates when Caps Lock is on and off with a “beep” sound
- Tactile and coloured buttons that have associated text or icon labels
- High contrast mode, invert colours, screen zoom, screen reader, voice control
Physical Assistance
The HP Access Handle (available via the HP Accessibilty Kit) can help wheelchair users by raising and lowering the automatic document feeder lid, maneuvering documents on the scanner glass, and adjusting the automatic document feeder guides.
