The recent redesign of its A4 office printer portfolio reflects HP's commitment to meeting the evolving needs of businesses, particularly in the face of shrinking office spaces and the increasing demand for environmental responsibility.

With business forecasts predicting a significant decrease in office space to just 50% of its current size, HP has introduced the A4 HP Colour LaserJet Enterprise 5000/6000 and X500/X600 series. These printers are specifically engineered to cater to the reimagined office landscape, offering the productivity and efficiency of an A3 copier at the cost and size of an A4 printer.

Key features of the HP Colour LaserJet Enterprise 5000/6000 and X500/X600 series include:

  • Customisation Options: Flexible paper handling, ADF, finishing, and speed license options allow customers to tailor their printing solutions without compromising on power, productivity, or security.
  • Productivity Hub: Designed to serve as a central hub for productivity and workflow, these printers offer digital editing capabilities directly on the device, including highlighting, redacting, and markups, all while maintaining industry-leading A4 Colour LaserJet speeds.
  • Seamless Digitisation: HP EveryPage with reverse and retry ensures faster and more seamless digitisation, reducing mis-feeds and ensuring document integrity.
  • Security: With HP Wolf Security, these printers offer the world’s most secure printing, providing protection, detection, and adaptation to new threats.
  • Environmental Sustainability: HP TerraJet Toner Cartridges are designed to minimise environmental impact, with up to 78% less plastic in cartridge packaging and 35% recycled plastic content compared to previous generations.

At the heart of these advancements lies a breakthrough in LaserJet cartridge technology, with the introduction of TerraJet cartridges aimed at significantly reducing the environmental impact of printing. Powered by HP’s next-generation sustainable toner, these printers reduce energy use by up to 27% and plastic packaging by up to 78%.

Moreover, the transition to newer A4 devices results in reduced energy and paper consumption compared to older and larger A3 MFPs, contributing to a greener office environment. TerraJet printing technology minimises energy usage by heating only the surface where printing occurs, resulting in a 27% reduction compared to older printers. Additionally, HP has redesigned its toner cartridges to decrease plastic usage, with TerraJet cartridges utilising 28% less plastic internally and over 71% less in their packaging.

In addition to sustainability efforts, HP has prioritised ease of maintenance and management for its new fleet of printers. Predictive maintenance monitoring services, combined with remote and cloud management capabilities, ensure efficient device monitoring and preventive maintenance, reducing costs and boosting productivity.

HP’s commitment to sustainability extends beyond its products and into initiatives aimed at environmental conservation and responsibility. From forest conservation efforts to using ocean-bound plastics in ink cartridges and recycling toner cartridges, HP is dedicated to reducing its environmental footprint and promoting eco-friendly practices throughout its operations.

As businesses continue to adapt to changing workplace dynamics, HP remains at the forefront of innovation, offering sustainable printing solutions that prioritise efficiency, productivity, but more crucially, environmental responsibility. With its redesigned A4 office printer portfolio, HP is setting a new standard for office printing, one that embraces sustainability without compromising on performance.
